As the people of Ferguson, Missouri continue to protest the killing of Mike Brown, a special protest of its’ own was created online.

Twitter users who were more than bothered over the photos used by the media to portray the 18-year-old , came up with the hashtag “IfTheyGunnedMeDown” to show how the media highlights African-Americans. Photos of teens and young adults in graduation gowns, military uniforms and glowing smiles were paired with candid shots and photos that can be misread from the outside world.

The tweets were also associated with the questions, ‘How does the media view African Americans?’ and the harrowing ‘Are we looked upon as suspects from the look of just one photo? ‘
